Carney is retiring (HDM confirmed it). A shame. We only got a handful of games with the Carney/Vaivai powerful combo. News isn't unexpected though as its been rumoured for weeks.

So let the replacement speculation begin.

Oakes is the obvious choice but I'm not 100% sold on him. It might just be his inexperience though.

Switch Hall to the left and Shaw back on the right? Still not confident in that either.

Think we need a new experienced power winger not just a fast, tall one.

And the Geek shall inherit the Earth!

Someone similar(if they exist) would do. We need size in our team. Although not the be all and end all it helps big time. We have been bullied too often in recent seasons.

Location: East Hull, is wonderful...
Hopefully a non quota spot replacement is found and the quota spot is used to strengthen in the back row

100% agree, use quota spot on big nasty 30 year old south sea islander with ball handling skills. We then get a couple of years of go forward & if we get that a lot of the locals we have will be good enough to get the ball over the line. We (as some other sides) have lacked a big nasty pack & have been to lightweight these last few years.

I'd probably look to replace him with a quota spot. Haven't we lost 3 spaces or potential with Heff, Carney, Carney?

I would like to see a big nasty winger, and then the pack improved one prop one second row. If we do sign hauraki would he count on quota or not ( been here a while so not sure at all)

If we went with a back 3 of shaw, quinlan, hall/oakes we'd finish tries no problem, but as salford showed in week 1 a good kicking game and we would not make many yards coming out of our own end at all.

Bring back Ken Sio!!

I would love us to sign Gelling, should Widnes go down. Push Vaivai to the wing (there is your like for like for Carney). Gelling is a very good Super League player, most important he is proven.

Too light and no better than what we already have in my opinion.
