Salford getting mullered by Catalans, means we are 10th...now, do we rest key personnel against the super dooper "injury ravaged"! FC, or protect our key personnel...my opinion, it,s a dead rubber game, rest our key players for when we really really need them. Some may disagree, fair enough, but I don,t think it,s worth the risk bearing in mind what is coming. Next, start by having a high completion rate, and stop being dumb and giving away possession with stupid penalties. If we can do that we have a real chance of being ok, don,t do that and we invite unnecessary pressure in a high pressure squeaky bum competition(Don,t know if I could take a re-run of 2016) No MPG(or worse) please.. Leeds will be tough, but we could turn them over. Salford and Widnes will improve... Anyway, here we go again.

Given how many games Lunt, McGuire and Carney have missed I think 10th and 15 points is a fair effort. form has picked up and key players have come back at the business end. So some reason for cheer - or at least not to be not too downcast.
Next week, I think we need to forget who the opposition are and treat it the same as going to any other club under the same circumstances. Obviously Hull will have their own perspective, and doing that will mean we’ll likely lose - but saying ‘well, at least we won the last ever SL derby’ ten years from now won’t be much of a consolation if it comes at the cost losing key players to injury for the 8s.
Rest players carrying knocks, give a run to anybody needing game time.

I agree with M.R. , Lunt especially needs to be available for the qualifiers so playing him against Hull is a risk we don't need to take. He has to pass a concussion test anyway so let him have 3 full weeks to prepare for our 7 most important games of the season.
Hull haven't seen Lunt or McGuire this season I'd keep it that way. Pity in a way because I can see Hull heading down the table but really we can't be concerned with them.
When the promotion party started last year nobody was bothered that we got tonked in our final regular season game at Halifax. We've taken a few derby defeats lately we can take one more, next year is another matter, first let's make sure there will actually be a derby next year.

Why give up smoking when you might get hit by a bus next week?
Just because you can’t eliminate risk doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to manage it.
I don’t like that we’re having to think like this at all - ideally every game should matter. I don’t even like it when people call for the kids to be played for experience. Not fielding your best team and trying everything to win devalues the competition. However, we have one game that matters very little compared with the seven that will follow.

Matters very little???? It's Hull and Rovers ffs. East Vs West. Red n white Vs Black n white. You can't tell me it matters little

Sheens has form for resting key players and as much as I'd love to walk out of City's ground after beating them next week I can't see it happening. The 2 points are worthless for us.If they get well spanked at Wakey today as I suspect they will then what little chance they have of top 4 is about done? Lots of players due back for them and a win against us at home would take some heat off a poor season? If they do manage to beat Wakey then next week's 2 points have a fair value for them? Either way the game means much more to them than it does us. After all these Derby losses as a fan I want us to go full bore and beat them but the cost may be too great? I'd go T Carney M Marsh in the halfs and rest Atkin McGuire and Lunt. Probably Blair Quinlan as well? Donno Johnson Dagger all must be itching to play? Not sure about playing Tomkins either depending on his injury? It's a sad state of affairs you have to think like this but it's the nature of the format we are in. No place for sentiment and we know better than anyone how quickly things can go tits up?
