Not for a while, just gone all "energy saving" in the kitchen and they'll last a good 10,000 hours. |

I've been trying to fix a light problem, installed a new ballast n everything. 5 days after a resounding success, the light is not working. Very disappointing. Energy efficient light bulbs suck too. They're rubbish and dull, bit like the OP. |

Magic disappearing text, secret agent stuff. My new energy lights are great, the olden day ones were absolutely frepping shatpank. I got 60w equivalent gu10 spot lights, retail for over £20 each but good old China and their eBay sellers got me 12x Unbranded ones for £44. They take several seconds to 'warm' up but once glowing, they are remarkably better than the halogens and cost roughly a tenth of the price to run. If you ever make the money saving plunge, opt for the warm white rather than day white, the latter is horrid and for nazi style torture chambers. What kind of light is your offending one? |

Yes the GU10 21 LED SMD CREE lights are the next generation. There is a Chinese guy in Hull that sells them on EBay. He will do you a deal if you ask. They only use 3W of power and are much brighter then my 50W Halogen that I replaced. Good for 50,000 hours according to the manufacturers. |

I have a Jurassic Park nightlight. Take it everywhere I go. I can't sleep without it. The dinosaurs keep me safe. |
