I was with some friends on Sunday that I took to the game for the first time in years. There commented on the lack of singing and how 5 years ago when last in England there could not hear themself think at Craven Park?
Is it just the cold or have we lost it?

I know what you mean but a couple of pointers that might effect....

a) no effort challenge from the opposition on the pitch
b) freezing cold

think it might be better v Bradford

The only time we seem to really sing is in the derby although it was better against saints, when we are fighting tooth and nail for the game that's when the singing becomes more obvious.

My opinion is were not pulling together now as a collective....

You have the group in the middle who usually start the songs off, and nearlly all of us join in.

Then you have 2 pockets of fans to each side who also like to sing but never get any back up from the middle bunch. So you have a couple of conflicting groups who are starting to give each other the bums rush.

Lets all start sticking back together starting on saturday and show the rugby world WE ARE BACK...... being vocal... :GUITAR: :DRUMMER:

I know what you mean, i stand near the top, to the right of the halfway line and the section of those supporters in front of me, based on their lack of passion vocaly, must be waxwork dummies.

With regards to the OP - saints game was the loudest i have heard it from quite some time, "come on you reds" in the seconds half was litrally hair raising.
Granted we certainly aint as loud as we have been in past seasons but the Widnes game was freezing and already won by half time which doesnt help an atmosphere.

As Sandra will note - im not the most vocal my Barmy Army Friends

But there is some reasons for this.
Firstly--- the people of the fringes will hardly ever start songs-thats why they go to the sides; but we need these fans to join in more to keep the atmosphere going (like the saints game)
Secondly--- the reason those to my right get know backup from me personally is because its 95% an anti FC song that has been sung, which makes us just look bitter and moronic IMO, we are better then that and id much rather sing about us been great or taking the mickey out of the away team we are actually playing against. Hence why people boo when them songs get started. WE ARE NOT PLAYING AGAINST FC SO WHO CARES ABOUT THEM - I CERTAINLY DONT.
If someone sings a rovers song that isnt always Red Robin ill gladly join in.

On a lighter note Andrew, can you dress like >>> :CHEF: <<< with a pie apron on for away games please; or at least magic weekend!

I like your post here VRR, but you contradict it in the Rugby Goodies thread by displaying a little bit of moronic bitterness.
