Post subject:  hull kr group meeting feedback/notes

This is a copy of an E-mail i've been forwarded showing the feedback from the latest group meeting.

Another enjoyable meeting lastnight with Mike Smith and Joe Clutterbrook present.

Basic feedback as follows:

Points raised prior to meeting:

* Pre-match music is far too loud

This is down to preference, as there were complaints previously that it was too quiet! However it is being looked into once again.

* Direct Debit option on lottery

Not possible at the moment as a signature is required as the club don't currently have a consumer credit license, although this is something planned for the future.

* Will there be an official club App for android phones

No plans at the moment, although the new website (see below) will be available across all portable devices.

* Rumours of the home derby being switched to the KC

Nothing has been decided yet, despite the announcement about the kick-off time. The club are watching things very much on a day to day basis, with the good news about the North Stand development we don't know what position we will be in regards our capacity at that stage yet. There have been people who have threatened to return their passes and would ask for their money back, while others are happy for this to go ahead if it is a one off. MS did say that if the derby does go to the KC we would be the home club. When I asked if he was concerned that the attendance would drop as certain Hull fans wouldn't attend if they couldn't sit in their own seats he said that wouldn't be a problem as we'd only expect around 1500 to come to CP anyway. He did say that obviously the preference would be to keep the game at CP as there are other issues such as income from bars/outlets in the ground not run by the club, etc.

* Golf Stand

This has not been condemned. The issue is the cost of getting structural testing done, which is only done by a small group of companies in the country and is very expensive. Will be open again on Sunday with an additional row of seats available. MS said the club only envisaged attendance problems for 3 super league games when away clubs bring a decent following, all the others will fit in without a problem.

* Car Parking - someone asked me to ask if it might be an idea to offer two tier parking prices, for people that get to the ground early to pay slightly less, thus encouraging them to get their and in the ground earlier, spending money. MS said that with the reduction in the price of beer this probably wouldn't happen as they were already offering that as an incentive.

Joe Clutterbrook - HullKR.tv and Website

Joe informed us that both the club website and online store are now under the control of new agencies and both are currently being reworked and should be online within the next couple of months.

HullKR.tv now has an uptake of over 500 and is proving very popular.

Lottery - 44,000 leaflets are being posted out in East Hull. There has been an increase in people signing up in recent weeks, not just those who have signed up as a result of the work done on the forum.

North Stand - the one we've all been waiting for!!

The ERDF funding HAS BEEN APPROVED (I see this is now in the public domain this morning with the news on RH), however there are still boxes to be ticked and all the legalities completed, MS described it like getting your mortgage approved and then actually buying the house and completing all the legal stuff. The council are very keen to get things moving and once all the legalities and council side of things are completed work will commence.

Other Matters Raised

On the issue of stock not being replaced in the shop when it sells out - MS wants us to sell out of everything! In the past we have been left with alot of stock at the end of the season, Kooga shirts for example, this year shirt sales are down, but this is thought to be due to the economy, along with many other issues.

Events at Craven Park - there was a big positive for events being organised at CP by Sarah Smith, particularly the forthcoming Mothers Day special offer meal. MS said it is very important for people to take these offers up. Anyone who hasn't seen it it's a two course meal in the restaurant on 18th March (no game, Catalans away night before) for £10 plus a free 10 x 8 family portrait. Already bookings are over 100 so it is proving to be popular. There are a whole series of events planned over the year. There are also still plans to show any away games that are on Sky in the bars, similar to the Catalans and Curry event last year.

Its not a fans forum as such although there is an informal aspect to it. The questions you raise are in many ways outside the remit of the steering group, which for all intent and purpose is to bridge the gap between the club and the fanbase.

I am no longer on the steering group due to work committments, however you can email Mike Smith or Karen Clarke with any concerns you may have which can be raised at the next meeting.

As I said, this is merely my 'feedback' from the meeting, jotted down notes, nothing more - official minutes are not necessary as this is not an elected group. I'm not an official representative, I'm just doing what the group was set up to do, passing information to and from the club.

It is pretty much accepted that many retail/marketing issues are currently affected by the state fo the economy, I think that goes without saying. Shirt sales are down - go figure!

If you think there are other 'vague' areas, please ask, I'll try to expand on them.

Games and dates change due to circumstance, how often do sky change our fixtures at short notice? The north stand has now come a step closer, if things move quickly who's to say that work could commence within the next five weeks, then obviously things could change once again. As I said the club are taking it from day to day at the moment.

Fair enough, I wasn't trolling I was just interested to hear what had changed their mind in a matter of weeks

If they had maybe it would be in the notes? Is it really that difficult to comprehend? Jeez, I've met amoeba's with more of a grasp than you appear to have.

Where are Rovers U-20's playing this weekend?
