Meeting was hosted by Andy Mowbray in the absence of Mike Smith and guest speaker was Joe Clutterbrook, who reported that there has been reasonably good take up of hullkr.tv and that things are moving forward re new online store and website. We focussed on away support and ideas to get more away fans to come to games. We were asked by Keith Earle, club pshychologist, what makes us attend away games, which grounds were particular favourites and which didn't we like for what reasons. As you would expect from Rovers fans, the answer was we go there because Rovers are playing irrelevant of facilities! This has been acknowledged by other clubs, they know that we travel in numbers wherever we play.

Work should begin on the north stand by the end of February.

We were joined at the meeting by John, Chairman of the West Hull RSG, who laid out the aims and objectives of that group.

The group discussed the issue of old merchandise, shirts, etc and talked about the possibility of running an initiative similar to that run by Stanley Gene, getting a unit to send out to PNG for example.

There were very few matters raised by anyone at this meeting.

There was however some discussion on recent negativity shown towards the group and we were asked how we thought the group should move forward. It was suggested that the group would maybe better being named a focus group rather than a steering group. We are there as a sounding board for the club to discuss ideas given by them and bring ideas to the table. It was never really envisaged as being a simple question and answer session. If anyone wants to raise any issues they are always welcome to contact the club who will then bring these issue to the table for discussion with the focus group. One thing that was stressed is that this is not an elected body and therefore minutes are not a requirement.

International Chairman
Whilst it is appreciated that the steering / focus group is unelected and as such meeting notes are not a requirement, my understand was that the group was to be a link between the club and the supporters to facilitate a flow of information backwards and forward so that everybody contacted with the club feels that they are part of it and not just the cash cows as is the case with some other clubs.
With regard to Rovers TV, I would like to subscribe to it but my internet access is through a dongle and it is badly affected by buffering so I haven't bothered.

Thanks for the update GraftonRed, intersting.

At the end of the day these people are volunteering their time, I thought about applying and being so utterly brilliant would have been welcomed with open arms, but I live ninety miles away and can't commit to attending every meeting.

I think it's great that having been invited to impart what was going on with this group, none of us knowing who was on it, two members in GraftonRed and RoversTrace have given us updates.

I can't speak for them but I'm sure that if they can they will raise peoples thoughts at these meetings.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Oh, just in answer to one of GraftonRed's ideas, I'd happily donate old shirts, especially to PNG, can't think of anywhere better.

Sorry for the misleading post, it was an e-mail forwarded to me and i just thought i'd pop it on here as people have asked about the meetings before.
So in short, i'm not part of the group, sorry again.
As you say though, donating old shirts is a good idea.

Those are actually my notes from the meeting. Nice to know that my feedback does the rounds, in passing it on via email it's getting to more fans, and that's the idea at the end of the day. Thanks
