Interesting article in the wail HERE. Looks like he's been coasting safe in the knowledge justin would pick him anyway. Maybe he's caught paul king syndrome which only manifests itself in the final year of a player's contract.

I'm sure I read previously that he wasn't fat and that it was just extra layers of protection he wore

Not really, for each of the previous seasons he did well, played far above his natural ability and was a fairly integral member of the squad.

Last season he looked a right porker, tried to fool opponents with a crafty lack of pace and appeared jaded like a lot of other members of the squad.

It's good to see he's grown up enough to realise this and has turned up to training in decent shape.

Personally I hope he earns a new contract.

Well he puts in 80mins every week even with the weight and rarely lets the team down. I agree he needed to shed some weight and train hard if he wants to make the 17 at all through next season but it gets to me that people say he is unfit when there are players out there much more ripped who struggle to make the 80.

I was chatting to Scott at uni and he said he is excited about next season. I must say there was a real buzz about the session as the players were tested for this and that. Joel Clinton looked as though he too had got his mojo back!

I expect Scott to really up his game. The last time he was written off was when Cookie came in, I remember reading he was pretty dejected and Stan took him to one siide and told him to get his head down and work hard, make it impossible to be overlooked. He did and reinvented himself and was tremendous for a couple of years.
He does seem to have a hit a comfort zone of being picked regardless over the last year and physically let himself go a bit but reading that he has realised this I expect him to up his game and impress again.
