Does anyone know if work has started on dismantling the Golf Stand? I'm wondering about potential loss of much needed revenue if it isn't ready for the start of 2012 season in early Febuary. |

. . . this also goes for the Big Screen that use to be on the fringe of Victoria Sq? |

Didnt see any evidence of it coming down on friday. However, the East Stand has been re-branded with the new sponsors logo so prep work is obviously under way for next year. Perhaps they are doing the easy stuff first then getting stuck into the bigger projects. |

Unless things have changed since the fans forum, the building work will be starting in early January 2012. North stand construction, East stand extention and TV screen erection. |

At the forum I'm pretty sure they've said the east stand isn't getting extended for the time been as it is very much at the bottom of the priority list. |

Thats what i thought aswell. The North Stand is the priority and the East extension has been put on the backburner until we know how much money we have to put into the North. |

Until that is done I remain sceptical about the proposed stadium improvements starting in the new year. Mind you, to be able to move the golf stand the South Stand terracing, scoreboard and frontage would need demolishing and then levelled (even tarmaced). I reckon this is going to be a costly exercise and wonder where this money is coming from; the same goes for the Big Screen being positioned in the vaccinity of the golf stands new location. Upwards of at least £300,000 or more? |

I never thought of that! Assuming it will fit and its a case of cordoning off the existing south terracing, then it will greatly reduce the cost of the project. Nevertheless, it will still need the same amount of work it took to erect it at the North end of the stadium which cost around £40,000. Lets hope there's still enough in the Allam 'gift' coffers to cover it. |
