lets start a petition to bring back lions tours and send it to the rfl i have put this on another forum

That would mean that we would loose our international players for a big chunk of the season & would the Aussies do the same to tour here? the answer to that is a big NO. I would love to see us play as GB though. But untill the international game drives the domestic game (like the other code) we will have to live off what we have now.

The Nrl wouldn't do it mid season as it would interrupt origin, but end of the season should be good.

I would like to see a lions tour once every 4/5 years as a special event but for the rest of the time I want to see all the home nations as separate entities

As I have already posted I would love to see that but you must remember why they stopped in the first place. The Aussies did not want it as it clashed with thier beloved NRL, the club sides put out second string sides so GB walked those games then met full strength Aussie national sides. sugestions that it be played close season met with the call that no one is interested in the game once thier season has finished & that the players played to many games as it was. That realy means that the clubs did not make any money at it & they killed international tours dead, The Aussies clubs dont care about anything outside the NRL & the Sydney clubs dont care about anything outside the city.
