Shame there isn't a league table for the U18's we'd surely be league leaders. Lost twice all season haven't we? |

Rovers had stacks of under 17s in the side with many of our actual under 18s playing for the 20s tomorrow so its not as if we just played an older side in order to destroy Bradford. We have some good kids. It isnt our fault Bradford turned up with a poor side. |

This is twice we have put 90 + on a team, whatever age they are, it isn't going to do their development much good. |

More then half the U20's are young enough to play in the U20's next year and even more of the 18's playing at the U18's level again next year. Youth is looking rosy. Lets hope they keep the same level of progress in recent years to come. |

It is allways going to happen at narrow age groups, at best you have a group of players for two years then you must start over again & put a side out every week even if you dont you have enough players of the required standard. The best players at 18/19 years of age will be knocking on the first team door the rest will move on to lower league sides, A lot of under 20 players will never make the grade are there just to make up numbers. It is the reason that I would prefer the Super league clubs to put money into comunity coaches to work with & support local amature sides & scrap the under 18/20,s. It would not stop clubs getting groups of young prospects to come to the club for trial games & training. It may also stop the drain on local sides as a large number of accadamy players dont go back to amature clubs after they are dumped by clubs. If we need some place for squad players to get match time then lend them to national league sides (dont we have a tie up with Workington ? |
