Not too early to start speculating on who we'd like and what direction to go in.

Originally I thought maybe give a young up and coming British coach a go, someone like Keiron Purthill from Bradford but it's difficult to get past the fact that the club will need completely reorganising and restructuring.

For that reason, it's really got to be an experienced Aussie, what the chances of us being able to lure one over here are I'm not sure.

Available (I think) are Steve Folkes, Chris Anderson and Brian Smith. Smith and Folkes obviously have terrible stains on them with their connection to the horrible enemy and Anderson has the connection with us, so for that completely silly reason, I'll go for him with a young gun assistant to be groomed into the job in three years time.

Edit; Anderson didn't actually play for us, don't know what I was thinking. I'll still go for him though.

If the alleged interference by Hudgell is true, none of them coaches would come IMO. In fact, one may argue that it would be Hudgell doing the rebuilding, not the next coach. I think it's more realistic that someone like Kear will get the job than Brian Smith.

If Hull get rid of their coach ( ) Hull KR could be looking at being the 4th attractive destination for a coach in SL (after Hull, Wigan and Castleford), not sure how they'd manage to get a good quality Aussie with that been the case.

Depends what the club's aims for the next few years are.

If they are to steady the ship financially, spend less than the cap and aim for the play-offs (ie 8th) as plucky underdogs, then Kear will do that. He knows how to work with a tight budget and get the odd very good performance out of an ordinary team.

If we're still aiming for silverware, underwritten by the board and Allam then I imagine it'll be an Australian - possibly somebody like Peter Gentle who was linked with Salford (before that went to Parrish) and Cas (where Morgan seems to be favourite).

Wane is a shoo-in for Pies job, the Wigan fans seem to think. Reckon the Cas post will be sorted all ready, them having held interviews a few weeks ago.

Yes, Wane does appear the odds on favorite atm. Personally, I'm not sure if it'll work.

I would have thought they'd announce it? Maybe Today's announcement will speed the decision up (If it is Morgan)

It would have to be a coach with no ambition, who does that leave us?
