If you are going to the match at Huddersfield on Saturday (July 30th) why not combine it with a visit to the Rugby League Heritage Centre. It is situated in the basement of the George Hotel about 100 yards from the main railway station. This is the place where Rugby League began and a place which all Rugby League fans should visit at least once in their lives. On show is a rare collection of RL history and memorabilia: ancient caps, jerseys and boots worn by the famous, digitised century old photographs, valuable medals and trophies, dinner menus, newspaper cuttings, old programmes along with a nice selection of some of the most recent books, novels, player biographies, DVDs and magazines for sale. All these found on the shelf on the left as you enter the room. Simon Foster, the son of Trevor Foster will be in charge and Stevo will also be around for a while before he sets off to go to work! It takes a good hour to really enjoy and appreciate what can be seen, but don't turn up after half five because that is when the centre is closing. ADMISSION IS FREE.
Visit //www.geofflee.net for details of my novels 'One Winter', 'One Spring', 'One Summer' 'One Autumn' 'Two Seasons'. and "Three Good Years" All six feature Rugby League against a humourous Lancashire/Yorkshire background and are inspired by the old saying about work: "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller."
