James Webster 11/11 is it possible as our new coach?

I'm pretty sure he lost one, the NRC final as Morgan hadn't officially taken a session and it was James's selection...etc

While it would be great if all players were so professional they'd accept who the chairman and board thought was the best man for the job I fear James wouldn't have the respect of the senior players as much as he should.

Mark O'Neil on the other hand...

We won that NRC Final. It's the one after we lost to Leigh when Murrell had that try dissalowed by the benefit of the doubt. Now that rule would have being BOTD to the attacking side. The game Webster lost IIRC was to Oldham. This won 11/11 is simply an Urban myth.

We lost 40-20 against Oldham when we only had a half a side playing. Webster was shouting instructions from the bench.

Sorry got my years mixed up!! As for Murrells offload in that game...we'd have won it had we used Andy Ellis off the bench and had we not played Leroy Rivett. Pretty much handed them the trophy peronally did Leroy.

Was more then a little weird not using Ellis off the bench to spell Fisher.

My assumption was that Morgan wanted our team to get used to a defeat so that the St Helens game wasn't such a big downer all at once.

I can't see that a coach of Morgans ability and the way he'd used his players all that season to win every game up until then just changes tactics and doesn't use all his interchange players.

There had to be a motive behind it.

It was seeemingly odd decision to not give Ellis a spell on the park.

I was speaking to one of the clubs directors the day or so before the game and he told me he thought Rovers would lose.
