Just wondering what you guys thought of Colbon are. How's he done in his almost three seasons there? Sad to see him go off injured yesterday. |

1st season he was solid if not spectacular. 2nd season he started like a house on fire then got his jaw broken in Catalan. After 2 months out he came back and has never looked the same player. He's now a shadow of the lad we had back in 2009. I'd expect him to move on at the end of the season. Shame, as he always tries hard but he's becoming a scapegoat for the current poor run of performances. |

He's seemed to have gotten his act together again in the last two games. Very unlucky with injuries after his broken jaw was compounded by a shoulder(?) injury a week before his return. Very good at kick returns and finishing, bit of an unsung hero when on form for me. (Had a shocker at Salford) |

We went into the old town with some Wigan fans after the game and during our after match anyalsis we dicussed among other things the pluses and negatives of Colburn as a player, the Wigan fans we spoke to commented that he was a good squad player at Wigan and always gave 100% but was never going to set the world on fire, aparently he played quite a few of his games at second row during his time there. After seeing him for myself over the last couple of seasons i think i would have to aggree with most of their opinions, last year before his jaw injury his kick returns were very good and his finishing from 20/30 yards from the opposition line was also commendable, however, since his injury he seems to have lost much of his confidence and has almost certainly gone backwards as a result. As someone has already commented, he had a very poor game against Salford and was at fault again on Friday for at least one of Wigans trys. I do hope he makes a comeback from his latest injury but wether he will be any more than a good squad player in the future is debatable imo. |
