First of all, does anyone else think it was a bit strange playing Mason for the full 80? he clearly wasnt ready for it and IMO have been better to give him a rest, then when he comes on he can make the impact we are after from him rather than being completely knackered!

Secondly, i thought we played so conservatively last night with ball in hand, their defence was very good dont get me wrong but there were barely any offloads, nothing different i.e. going wide early or anything and i know we are without Dobson but we never looked like scoring unless in their 20 (apart from lovegrove which would have been try of the season :o ) and that must be a slight concern.

I know its easy to slag the team off and stuff after loss and admittedly this is a negative post but things will improve im sure of that, not liking this bad start with the month we have ahead of us though

i didnt go, and listened to it on radio and so many times the "lack of effort" was mentioned.

do the Rovers players really think there that good they only have to turn up? they did the same thing against Catalans, scored 2 early tries, thought they were world beaters and went to sleep thinking it was easy. the worrying thing is when Rovers fall asleep, they are very heavy sleepers and NEVER wake back up. to get back from 10 down to lead by 8 and then still lose is criminal.

as for Willie Mason playing the full 80, i dont understand it either. for me he should be used in bursts for his impact, id sooner see him dummy running as much as he gets the ball too, if hes attracting 3/4 players to every tackle then throw the ball past him and create the overlap for a change.

the next 5 games could see us pick up no points, UNLESS Rovers raise it against the bigger clubs.

Im not sure about lack of effort, just poor defence, they made so many easy yards and they got quite a lot of offloads off too. In attack we just didnt look like scoring really no flair (no dobson)

If thats what they do think then they need to snap out of it or its going to be a long season! They didnt look up for it or play to the intensity youd hope to see thats for sure. When we got in the lead you thought that they were going to turn it around and make up for thr first half but just fell away.. worrying.

Despite our downfalls, i dont think Salford could have played much better. With their forward injuries, they really did play well, hardly any errors good defence and dangerous in attack, well played to them.

It reminded me of dome of our losses in our second season in SL when we went on a bad run. No leadership behind the posts trying to pick the team up. Briscoe apart the looked uninterested, galea was meant to be captain but never said a word, the lack of passion was the worst aspect. I agree Mason on for 80 was baffling.

Mason on for 80 mins, well lets get him as match fit as we can asap. Spelling him on the bench last night would not have made any difference.

Galea was captain v Crusaders and everyone assumed that he would remain as skipper but Morgan rotated it and made Blake Green the captain on Friday.
