I have not seen a Rovers team so bad since we first qualified for super league. Is James Webster still available?. How about Michael Smith. We are terrible, its quite obvious to me this team (or most of them anyway) do not want to play (put the effort in) for the name HULL KINGSTON ROVERS. Its time to bring the youngsters in and drop this lot. We will get beat anyway so throw the youngsters in give Willie Mason the armband and even if we get thrashed lets see some passion.

It's not a bad team Cabbie but for sure it's a team without any direction or self belief at the moment.
I agree with you that we need to blood our youngsters more frequently but you have to do that with care.
Throw too many into a demoralised team and the resulting canings will hit their confidence too.

Think we are missing the point here. Salford where VERY good. They had speed, direction and passion. If I wasn't a Rovers fan I would have enjoyed this fast flowing game. The Mason thing back fired, the effect it had for us last week gave Salford the reason to win.

Hats off to them they out-played us in every department, I have no complaints.

We cant go through the whole season saying hats off to the opposition. That team that played in our first season in super league would of won last night. Teams are cutting through us with ease against the Crusaders we nearly lost it towards the end. I am afraid its only going to get worse unless something drastic is done. Blood the youngsters now and i gaurantee led by Mason within three years we will be a force again.

I think its fair to say, with all due respect (i do like the Salford club), that Salford are a cracking bet to finish outside the 8, it is also fair to say any top club would be looking at Salford for two points.., and you do realise that Salford were missing at least SIX first team players...., again with ALL due respect Salford at the current time in history are NOT a VERY good rugby league team, they are an average to middling on their day team..1 win (against Wakey) and four heavy defeats before last night are evidence enough.., they will not challenge for anything for the foreseeable future..

Yet they were much , much better than our supposed better team..?

Its like the end of the Roger Millward era all over again for me, a team picked on sentiment or one or two good performances, players kept too long beyond their sell by date , add to that a reluctance to play any young player unless out of necessity , robots preferred to skillful players and a limited game plan and we have a downward slope....at least Roger won a bucketful of trophies before he lost the plot...

I am sure JM will turn it round at some point and we will record a good win or three but the end result will not change...and that will be another zilch year to add to the last 26....in my , sometimes unagreeable , view, unless we have a major change in philosophy it could be another 26...

And for anyone with the tired line of we have only had five years in SL , look how far we have come etc etc, in the aforementioned Millward era we had won the league and a cup within four years of promotion with much less resources than we have now...

Its all well and good saying blood the youngsters but watching them last night they looked much the same as the 1st team. Cut open too easy, extremely light and overall not very good.

So sad to say but we are a very threadbare team, lose a player or 2 and we have no idea. I never thought it was true but we are such a one man team its frightening. Dobbo and clint play, we win that gam, maybe JM doesnt know what to do without them.

Bang on larry you certainly know your stuff. We are going backwards. You have got to give it to wigan they seem to have a production line developed. When will we produce a tomkins type player. I have never felt so down since Featherstone Rovers beat us in an NL1 play off a number of seasons ago.
