Now we didn't lose so there is no wonder there isn't a referee thread on here so thought I'd give him a rare opportunity to appear on a Super League clubs' message board!!!!

I thought he let the game flow very well, he seemed to get most big decisions correct (other than that high shot at the end on Wheeldon that he let go) and wasn't overly picky on the smaller details.

He tended to take the teams back a bit further so to not have to blow up for offside all day long but thought a little pedantic blowing up for both feet not being behind the line when we were defending back to back sets yet the rest of the game let it go!

A pretty ok performance from him, wouldn't be surprised if he was being watched by the big wigs to see if he is ready for a full time role, remember Thalers first performance he looked really good and fair then became an official everyone hated!

I think every rovers fan hated him after the penalty try he gave against us at wakey

To be fair to Thaler I thought he was ok last year, seemed to have calmed when Child took his position as most whistle happy ref in SL.

I think normal refs just appear better now that Child is on the scene.

hicks was ok for the first 40 mins, but then he seemed hell bent on getting Crusaders into our 20 with some dodgy penalty decisions. How he missed Wheeldon almost being decapitated I will never know
