Hi guys

I'm a student living on Princes Ave (and a wire fan to repent for sins in another life), I was thinking of joining the DW gym on Holderness Road and was just wondering if anyone could tell me what it is like and whether it is easy to get the bus to?

Thanks in advance :D

I can't comment on the gym, but make sure you wear your Wire shirt around uni! It's always good to see fellow rugby league fans!

I'm a member there mate, it's a good gym always cleaning it, decent free weights section and good selction of static weight machines, really good selection of fitness machines also.
They also have a good group exercise programme with weights and cardio classes and spin classes most days of the week if you fancy a challenge, think they may also do a student discount too and it's free to join before end of January.

The pool is always clean and there are two Jacuzzis which are also cleaned regularly and usually nice and hot and a good steam room

Hope this helps

Stan :D

It is a nice petit gym but if you are joining a gym don't get a bus there, jog it!!! Firstly it's a good warm up and secondly it saves you using a boring treadmill. Wouldn't take long to jog that distance, I used to walk from National Ave to Mt Pleasant then bus it home and it only took me less than 30mins.

(Not that I am in any position to give advice on keeping fit haha!!!!)

Get yourself to Nuffield Health (near Odeon & Chiquitos) mate.

Not only is it nearer to you it's only £26 a month and the facilities are miles better.
