Hull is featured as 'the place to move to', in my wife's (honestly ) Ideal Home magazine. My own alma mater Gillshill primary school gets a namecheck and is described as 'outstanding'. The city sometimes gets worse press than it deserves, so it was nice to see. Maybe we can get Laura Ashley to replace Kooga - a nice floral print perhaps for the 2012 shirt perhaps. As some people say it is difficult to attract players to the city, perhaps Hull KR should invest in a copy to counter the negative image.

Don`t know why Hull gets bad press.Travelling around the country with my job believe me there are some right sh*tholes.

Based on the statistics, basically. Most of those that lambast Kingston upon Hull do so without so much as a visit. I don't think Hull is a particularly aesthetically pleasing place but, like you say, there is much worse out there.

One thing that you can't get away from is Hull has an appallingly high rate of crime, a lower life expectancy, poor educational attainment, high levels of teenage pregnancy and high levels of excessive drinkers and smokers. If you factor in our lack of industry we also how below average house prices and below average wages with a high level of unemployment and benefit dependant. All of this, of course, is based against national averages. Sadly, the statistical data suggests Hull is a place to avoid in terms of health, wealth and prosperity. On the plus side, though, and again according to the stats, there are 7 areas in the Country that score lower.

Quite right. If you bring Hull's sorrounding area's into the boundary - like authorities do, then the statistics would offer a rosier picture. It is what it is though.
