Should start to see a return on the investment by about the year 3000 then.

The pitiful return of less than £6k per year is even more alarming when you consider the council pay £72500pa in rent for office space!!!

Yet another example of taxpayers being given a bum deal by incompetant politicians.

Can't argue with that. We need to put an end to this sort of thing. Erm... after the North Stand at CP is sorted, naturally. :SHIFTY:

Quote:Returns to the council under the lease have, however, fallen. In the year of City's promotion, the lease delivered just £709 and a season of bumper crowds in the Premier League the following year only brought in £1,038.

Seven hundred and nine pounds? Seven hundred and nine pounds, in the year The Tiggers got promoted?

For as long as I can remember KuH City Council have had the reputation and performance figures of one of the worst LA's in the country. How do these people keep their jobs.

Indeed.

I've said right from the start that the council should run the stadium and not the SMC. That way you'd reduce overheads of an intermediary and also not have to pay to rent office space in your own building.

They may also be open to actually using it for other things such as community rugby.

Just to follow up though, i'm not sure why this is on the Rovers site? (especially when Rovers have a peppercorn rent agreement on Craven Park and struggle on that basis anyway) What kind of profits does Craven Park make?

Perhaps it was to highlight the incompetence of Hull City Council. who pay an annual rent of £72,500 to the Company who lease the Stadium from Hull City Council. Such incompetence should concern all whether Red & White or Black & White.
What do the profits or non profits at Craven Park have to do with the article

Well as it's on the Rovers site i thought it would be interesting to compare the 2 super stadiums of Hulls profitability?

(and yes, the incompetence of HULLCC does concern me, about a lot more things than just the stadium)
