What position does everybody see Jake Webster playing in next season? IMO he hasn't shown the kind of form the had him playing for NZ, so I would be tempted to play him on the wing and see how he goes, plus I think Cockayne has played excellently in the centres when he's filled in. In fact, didn't he play on the wing for NZ and not in the centres? If I was picking, I think my backline would be like this: 1. Briscoe 2. Fox 3. Welham 4, Cockayne 5. Webster 6. Green 7. Dobson Despite this, I'm almost certain he'll walk back into the side at centre, though for me, Cockayne outplayed him this year. |

Jakes biggest asset at centre is his defence. I really like Charlie but he isn't a strong enough defender to replace Jake. IF Jake comes back 100% fit and ready to go I think we could see the player we've only seen in glimpses. I still think we need some real pace in the centres, we lack the ability to hit a hole and go 90m. How ever well charlie has done this year I still think his biggest asset is coming off the bench to add enthusiasm to a tiring team. |

Galea coming on for either mason or Newton, whoever needs it most and charlie replacing murrell. This way you dont lose anything in terms of playmaking and you have an enthusiaatic ball carrier allowing us to spell our 2nd rows. |

I agree charlies much better through the middle than he is on the fringes. If he can come in at dummy half against a tiring pack then he can tear a team up and lift the team. Newton and Galea both looked like players that needed spelling throughout a game. Mason should give us that option without losing any quality on the pitch. We will get injuries, so charlie will play anywhere we need him. |

From what I've seen of Cockayne he'd make a good impact hooker. |

If Welham is to retain his place , it should be on the wing, he has a certain aptitude for getting over the line and his huge weakness in defence would not be exposed as it is, so costly to us , in the centre.., i think his best performance this year was on the wing at Quins, admittedly not great opposition but showed to me that , if he has a long term future at a decent class it is on the wing... We need some more quality in the backs regardless..and much as i love Ben for all that he brings to the team , he is not what you would term a class centre... |

If we have or do sign Hall, then we'll need Webster to defend in the centres; with Hall or Welham moving out to the wing. I totally agree about playing Charlie and Galea of the bench. |
