This probably won't go down well but I'll post it anyway. Colin Hutton was the Chairman at the time of when the club sold the old ground and relocated to Greatfield which is widely regarded as one of the worst decisions in the club's history and therefore should shoulder some of the responsibility for it. The guy is in his twilight years and he has been a great servant to the game but it's as if his tenor as Chairman is forgotten about IMO... |

Absolutely right for once General., much as i admire all the other things that Colin has done in the game and the fact that he is held in the highest regard by a lot of people.., the actual bare bone facts of the matter are that he took over as chairman at the best possible time with a magnificent team at the top of the game , basked in the glory of the trophies they would have won whoever was chairman, and then pretty much oversaw the destruction of the club... The spending polices and the then decision to sell Holderness Road and appoint Wrights to build the hovel of a new ground far away, out of the way, on Preston Road is the biggest folly in the clubs history...and a handicap the club may never properly overcome , and will certainly never overcome on their own...and i am afraid for me , this is my overriding notion of Colin.. |
