ben thaler is the ref for wakefield vs hull kr
last time he reffed this game was the now infamous penalty try, the only one to be awarded in sl history.
can anybody guess what his hometown team is lol?



i`ll give you a clue, it begins with "w" and ends with "d" and has "akefiel" in the middle.

At the time it was awarded, it was the first. I don't know of any others, but saying that I have seen a hundred that were more deserving than the one he gave.

I'm sure there was one given last year against warrington, Briers kicked a ball out of an attackers hands as he was going to ground it and it was given as a pen try.

Wakefield were awarded a penalty try at Belle Vue against Hull FC around 2003/4 when Jason Smith obstructed one of their players chasing a kick through.

Dont think Ben Thaler was the ref though... :D

if we cut out the high shots and stupid 5th tackle penalties then we shouldnt even see the ref, its down to the players to do that, stop the pens stop the ref IMO.

Your joking, this is the bloke who gave a try as video ref when it was clear at least two players were 3 metres offside, one of which hit the defender without giving him 10 metres.

If there is a way to screw us over, Thaler WILL find one.
