It can't be just me but he hasn't performed for the last two, three matches. He lays on too long, gives too many penalties away and makes many mistakes. In my opinion he isn't captain material, thoughts would be appreciated.

i thought he grafted like fook and lead from the front. couple of errors but there were a lot during the game, the ball looked like a bar of soap, don't recall a leeds side coughing the ball up that much in one game!

Can't comment on this game, but I'm glad Vella is part the Rovers team. The importancy of the captaincy is overestimated IMO. He has never done anything embarrassing and is strong enough to lift a trophy above his head, should the need arise.

Morgan did single him out for special praise after the game. From the HDM:

"I thought Mick was immense," he said. "He was really, really strong with the way he played."

Vella is a great captain he does his talking when it matters. Rovers would be a lot poorer team without him in it.

I really didn't think much of him on Friday. I admit he does lead from the front most of the time, but he lays on for too long in tackles and gives silly penalties away, too many for a captain.

i'm sure he only gave one penalty away, as for the laying on, you really have'nt been watching rugby that long if you need to know the reason why teams lay on at the play of the ball.

To be fair i dont think he had a great game either, wouldnt of said he had a poor game either though.
And he was great last week.

I've been watching Hull KR for ages and not only the first team, the reserves and the academy. Anyway, I know why they lay on at the play of the ball what i'm saying is when we get penalised for it every week it has to stop.
