For me the hooker/pace argument is a bit of a myth. Yes, if he had blistering pace it would be a great asset, but it would be for any other position. Scott seems to have an uncanny to ghost through gaps and use his strength to hold off men, as he showed last night. He looks to me like he can develop into a hooker that can control the game. In recent memory I can think of two international hookers, Terry Newton and James Lowes who didnt have any pace.

i agree that he will turn into a good hooker, but he needs to learn quick, how many times did he turn the ball back inside and get his team mate smashed? but he will learn from experience im sure
I'm sure he will learn his lessons fast, he seems to have done in the past, I'm confident he can be good for us in the hooking role, given a bit of time. Thought he had a good game last night, imo was the one who changed the game for us last night, with his timely 40 20 and try. The then introduction of Fisher was great, as it allowed to to keep the momentum going and apply some pressure. Given the right tactics and smart interchanges between these two players, I think they will both offer good things to our performances.
Im sorry but as much as we all love scotty he is not our best hooker, we r a much better attacking force with fisher at hooker, ben is quicker at play the ball which gives our attack that little bit more time which is essential against teams with quick defences......... Scott was outstanding at loose forward last season so why change it ???

We worked the ruck over to much IMO and failed to gain any advantage, noticed it alot at the start of this season.

The one thing that will stop him being a top hooker is his inability to play a pass without having to get upright first. It means a slow pass out. Cunningham is a master at it and hence he is a great hooker. His scoot and ability are not in question, maybe he can train this into his game and make this position his own.

I see what your saying, you can tell the distribution speed when he has interchanged with Fisher but Murrell has been training in this position for what I would imagine all of pre-season and maybe he just aint going to get that natural speed as others.
