Once again...chaos! The new tills crashed this morning. Was turned away at 10 and told delay would be about half an hour. Alas when returned at 11 tills still down and poor girls having to hand write receipts and calculate cost on pocket calculator. Big queue outside with people waiting to get in but service slow due to problems! When will the club get their act together on this side of things. I don't blame the poor girls that work there, they were very polite and efficient under the circumstances but as a result very under-manned! New shirts, Christmas demand...and as a result a queue of very unhappy customers once again! God help us when we need the Richard Horne Testimonial tickets, hopefully the Club Rovers scheme will then come into it's own....if the tills aren't still down! :( :? :STUPID: :x

So the tills crashed and the staff did all they could to help people. Are you moaning at anyone in particular, or just moaning?

Guess he's moaning at the till provider or the person that put the tills in, or maybe it's that it's the final straw after several issues? Difficult to know what's driven someone to having a rant about an issue.

How should the club "get it's act together" on tills crashing?

There has been problems with the tills and ticket machines before and quite often but at the end of the day that's life. Take a deep breath and walk away! Its frustrating if you're tight for time but what can you do? Barring buying machines that will never go wrong!!!!

Can I just ask people who have problems in the shop NOT to have a dig at the staff - I was in there most of the morning and it was a technical problem 'off site' which neither the service engineer nor any member of staff could fix instantly.

The shop staff DO put in a lot of hours and work very hard so bear this in mind before you have a rant - constructive criticsm can be useful but constant negative comments are demoralising.

These forums are read by most of the staff, so think on before posting your 'daily whinge!'

If you read my post properly you will have seen that I actually praised the shop staff. The general problem with ticketing, for such as derby games, etc, which most of us will have experienced, lies above them. They had to rely on laptops IIRC last year! Admittedly some problems cannot be avoided but they do seem to happen all to often. I don't believe I am the first and only person to 'moan' about this, I recall it was raised with Neil Hudgell on a forum or Q&A session and he admitted there were problems in this area that needed improvement

Was this your furst taste of an IT problem?
If so you are awfully lucky as it a common problem.
I have always found that computers in general are always on the edge of madness most of the time.

I think the words 'Once again' suggest that it wasn't? Admittedly they do seem to happen at the worst time!
