No great surprise, really. The lack of suitable replacements is worrying.

Shaun Edwards would be great but whether he'd be interested is another matter.

Agree.
Would cost massive money though to get him away from kick and clap and then his salary too

The Sunday People reports he had already said he was quitting before the game no matter what the result yesterday. Just a shame we were'nt good enough to give him a good send off.

What his replacement will be able to do with the quality of players we have is anybodies guess, but i think it will be a very long time before we can emulate the ozzies success. Lets not forget R/L is australias national sport, just like all the footballing nations have vast pool of people playing it, australia has this benefit with R/L players unlike our selves.

It's alright bringing the ozzies over here in the guise of bringing our players up to their standard and showing us how its done, but who showed them?

If it wasn`t for the fact the Aussies were playing England then I would have enjoyed watching their skills more. As it is it was painful to watch.(damn `em :) ) :P
Do you think Smith had it in his mind to jack in the England job when he took over at Wire?

I'm sure he would of been considering it, full time club and country doesn't leave a lot of spare time for family, and i'm sure coaching warrington is enough for any one man to cope with,

Like you say, watching the Aussies clinical silky skills is a pleasure, it's just also embarrassing to watch it time and again against us

Think we have to realistic, we are never going to be as good consistently as the aussies, our best hope is the odd one off good game. In the NRL there arent too many less intensity games as in super league, take away the derby games or top eight and there lies the problem.

Morgan is an obvious candidate IMO. Media-friendly, capable of getting the most out of what resources he has and would bring a fresh approach. Realistically it probably requires no more time during the SL season than he currently devotes to his BBC/Sky work. Plus there are no expectations (as we've been hopeless for decades) and a nice salary top-up involved.
