Can’t we just have one thread that doesn’t get swamped by the inbreds from next door. Stan & Macca have been outstanding servants for our club. Fitzy & Fozz might not have been here long, but both have played integral parts in our best league season for over 20 years. They deserved a good send off. |

Makka has been a truly great servant and leaves the fans with some great memories. Fitzhenry has been one of my favourite players this season, he's an absolute professional and for me has had a better season than Fisher. Fozzard has done OK, all the best to him, the effort was always there There is nothing I can say I can say about Stan that hasn't already been said, the bloke's a legend. I was quite emotional during the on-field presentations last night. Here's to 2010! |

Best of luck to all the departing players. They've all contributed in some way to our continued improvement and those gaps will need filling if we want to improve for next season. Fitzy looked in bits walking off the pitch at the end of the game last night whilst saying goodbye to the fans near the tunnel. It's amazing to see the effect our "little club" has on these seasoned pros. |

Getting aside from the sentiment I wasn't all that impressed with Fitzhenry to be honest he had some good games towards the end of his contract but what happened to all the previous games. If we are to move to the next level we need to sign International Players who have done it and got the tee shirt starting with two new front rowers who can bring back the bish. |

GML go ahead and clean this up. I'm an unwelcome Hull FC fan that would like to say a heartfelt goodbye to Stan. An absolute top bloke and true legend of the game in a time when there aren't many about. I can't think of anyone more HKR than Stan, and yet I still respect the bloke enormously. I first met him fresh off the plane when he first signed, and he went to Ritzy rock night of all places. I was the only one there who knew who they was. At a time when KR was getting 1,500 crowds and FC 5,000 there wasn't as many fans about! Him and John Okul insisted on buying my drinks all night and then went for more drinks in their flat above Suds. They plied me with Gin and afterwards I had alcoholic poisoning for the next week! My favourite derbies are the ones when it was pretty much Gene vs Vaikona, and the only people that went was the genuine partisan fans of both clubs, the types that followed both clubs to all the cumbrian outposts in appalling conditions, but I digress..... Goodbye Stanley, and all the best for the future. If they build their new stand I hope they name it after you. |
