Why doesnt it surprise me Stan isn't in the side! Absolutely love the bloke and have idolised him since his first game on British soil at the scabby Boulevard playing for PNG!! However he's become a liability, you dont know what kind of game he's going to have, one game he'll win it almost on his own the next he'll look like Eddie the Eel doing 100mtr doggy paddle!!! I personally dont expect us to win on Friday nor do I think we're ready to win the GF (if we do brilliant) but I also dont think Stan has another year in him and possibly gone one season too far as it is. Take an ambassadorial role with Rovers and help develop the kids. With Cockayne given another week to recover after his pot was taken off I fully expect Briscoe to play now. With Murrell's ball handling before the game at Wakey I'd suspect he was keen to play then! And even if Galea has a bit of muscle damage it wont be anything an injection wont take care of!! |

If they're all fit, we've got just about our strongest team available which is something to be very grateful for. To have a chance against Leeds, Rovers will have to be at their best. On Stanley Gene, if he is retiring, I guess there might be some pressure to play him for the home play-off game as a send-off (his last two games against Quins and Wakey wouldn't be much of a way to say goodbye). It will be too big a game for sentiment though, IMO, and he should only be picked if he merits selection. The January friendly with Hull would be a chance for him to play his last game for Rovers and would put a few on the gate for Richard Horne, I'm sure. |

Good to see Kirke back , his injury against Catalans did look like that it would be the end of the season for him at one point. As regards Stan , JM will not pick players on sentiment. If he fits in with the game plan he will be selected. |
