Justin said on KCFM that Chev will be in the pack full-time next year hence the reason we are looking for another centre.

Chev has struggled defending out in the centres, sometimes lacking the agility needed to tackle elusive players (such as Gidley and the like) one-on-one, 2nd man in.

I don't think it's any coincidence that his performances have improved with a run of games and playing in the pack where his lack of agility can't be targeted by the opposition (same as any forward playing in the centres would be).

I think he certainly has the ability to be the off-loading type of forward we've been missing.

Agree.
Hopefully can stay clear of the injuries that have blighted his stay at Rovers so far too

I'd like to agree I really would.

But Chev just doesn't cut the mustard.

Chev will not be this offloading forward you want him to be.

Chev doesn't really offload, not to any proper effect anyway.

He turns around 90 degrees in the tackle, before full impact and throws the ball back in a straight line where it has just come from.

You can call that an offloading game but to me it is a lack of bottle. And truthfully that is the meat of the problem.

He doesn't want to be tackled and he doesn't want to run his weight.

The odd big hit on an unguarded player doesn't make him a hero.

That's why Chev will never be the player he should have been. It it's not a question of a good player out of form. It's a good player who has lost the appetite.

Tremendous player in training apparently.

TBH i thought he had a tremendous match yesterday and has been consistently good for the past few weeks. Made good yards in the second row and only missed one tackle when covering at centre for Walker. After Clint Newton was my MOTM.

Leeds moved him into the 2nd row 4 years ago, how come it's took your coach this long to realise this. :?:

Because our coach is useless and doesn't know how to get the best out of players.

Oh, sorry, wrong team.

You really are a desperate little troll!

When Chev came he wanted to play centre, like he wanted to play centre at Leeds before he moved to union. JM obviously wanted to give him the chance to prove he could be one of the top two centres at the club, he hasn't done that, so JM is moving him to second row on a permanent basis. That is the thing about JM, he gives people the chance to do what they want (another example is JW, he was seen as a winger and look what a good centre he is now having been given the opportunity), when it doesn't work he either moves them into a position they can play, spots potential for a different position or gets rid.

There is nothing wrong with giving people an opportunity, like I said sometimes it works out and sometimes not. Lets face it, we we haven't exactly suffered for JM decisions have we

Chev Walker has been playing very well for the last couple of months, he is an integral part of JM's squad, I can't understand some people's view of him. People need to actually watch the game.
