I'd go with Aizue instead of Fitzhenry and really smash 'em in the forwards. Cockayne instead of Walker as a utility back/interchange for Fish.

Have you seen Macca in the reserves lately mate.
Calling him mediocre at the moment is being kind.

It's a while since I've seen the reserves but I don't think that's a good way to assess his form. As a matter of fact I've no idea why he was dropped to the reserves in the first place, his performances in the first team have been pretty good all season. And he is the one tackle busting prop that we have that brings a real impact from the bench.

If the players (and fans) need a lift, throw Makali on! (not that it's going to happen)

I agree i reckon that will be the team, but im really hoping Charlie is at least on the bench, was consistant all through the Leeds game and chased at every chance he could get... even at the end to make smith stay in the corner for his try.

And with his enthusiasm (spell check  ) i think we could really do with him out on the park on saturday.

Think I'd go with charlie in place of Walker (or fitz if not 100%) thin we need to be more mobile than big against FC. Charlie is better latching onto kick throughs than Walker, suppose it depends who JM thinks will need to be spelled throughout the game (Newton has been taking a breather the last couple of weeks) which will dictate interchange.

I also hope Macca will be back in the first team for the derby but as mentioned I doubt it will happen. Destroyed them in the last game at CP, they had no answers for his barnstorming runs. If he was to come into the side, I would replace Walker with him and use Lovegrove to cover S/R if need be.

I would also start with Wheeldon alongside Vella and leave Fozzard to replace Vella in order to keep an experienced prop on the field at all times.

I don't see it as a job. It is a passion and love that we all share. Neil Hudgell

Only debates for me are Cockayne or Walker and how we tactically use our props.

Cockayne's form, enthusiasm and temprement(!) were all better than Walker's (who for whatever reason just isn't doing it) at Leeds.

I like to see props play in pairs with one having an explosive role and the other a more holding game. Fozzard for me just isn't making the yards but is solid going forward, he also can defend well as long as he doesn't stray away from the forwards. Lovegrove has had our best go forward over recent weeks. With the other pair, although not really hitting the highs of the last two seasons (probably due to injuries) Vella can still do it all. I'll defer to GML's knowledge of the reserves to include Wheeldon over Aizue.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas
