Warrington created history by beating the Catalans Dragons in Barcelona in the first-ever Super League game to be played in Spain.

The historic match drew a crowd of 18,150 to the city's Olympic Stadium, with over 2,000 French fans making the two-hour trip over the border and they contributed to an excellent atmosphere.

My guess is Warrington didn't take 16,000 fans so is this an indication S/L could take off in Spain.I'd rather push it there than R/U Scotland.

Is that right? I heard they sold 1500 tickets locally, 1500 to Wire fans and the rest were sold through Catalans ...?

I think you will find that the figure was over 12,000 French fans. They had pre-sold this amount prior to the game. There was only about 3,000 sold locally, with 1,500 Wire fans also attending.
