with a depleted set of backs through injury and England call ups is now the time for a loan signing? Colbon may be missing for a while, Webster carrying knocks too, should we be looking to bring someone in?

Why not look to the youth team to provide cover? The only signings availible on loan would be second rate players from other teams,

thats a fair point, but does JM really feel theres anyone in the reserves capable of stepping up? Frankie Mariano only got a chance in the CC against Sheffield as Colbon pulled out injured in the warm up, who else is there?
id love to see a youngster come through OUR ranks but who?

Im not upto scratch on what is happening with the reserves but i remmeber Lee Gommersall playing on the wing against cas last year and doing an ok job. I think he is a fullback though. Not sure if someone could help with more info bout him

Gommersall has been playing in the pack Haynes has been the full back.

Webster only just failed his medical so should be fully fit for Friday.

We dont really need to bring people in we're more than covered with Cockayne, Webster, Walker, Welham and Fitzhenry to play in the back 5.

We have 5 fully fit props and both Murrell and I'Anson have played at hooker and loose man already this season. Stan is versatile and as is Galea but I'd keep Galea and Newton in the second row with Murrell at loose man.

Given the salary cap and this only being for one game I dont find we have to worry and the only position i'd try and get in on loan would be a hooker who is defensively good with accurate passing. Find one of those that comes cheap then brilliant.

I would like to see Rovers give Liam Welham a crack.
From what I have seen (admittedly not a lot) in the York and Batley friendlies and the game at Leigh a few years ago when he was only about 16, he has looked to have bags of ability.

I would love to see this kid progress the same way as his brother, his size will limit him to how early he gets his first team chances.

Didn't seem to have too much of an effect on Kris.
He looked like he would get caught on the breeze when he broke through.

Simple answer is no, No point getting more cover by using the salary cap for someone who isnt going to play unless we get loads of injuries.
