I can’t tell you anything definitive only what rumours have been said but the east stand is to be extended out towards the south stand (this was mentioned last season)
And from what i can gather from others the plan now is to have a similar stand like the north placed in the south. (the plan originally was to move the north stand to the south)

He said it was 'his understanding' that at the end of the season the east was to be extended so it would go from each try line and also something would be happening at the scoreboard end.

Be great if it does happen.

Tbh, and I've said this plenty of times before, I hardly think your priorities should be to yet again extend the east stand. You all moan about how you get very few away fans at CP, yet this wouldnt be the case if you actually had semi-decent facilities for them. Surely your priority in terms of ground development, should be to build a state of the art away stand? I know you had plans proposed to put this in place, but why has it been swept aside? Fair enough Rovers are only trying to accomodate all of their 'home' fans, but I think it's about time your board put some serious thinking into making CP a ground that is fit to facilitate away fans. The difference between CP and likes of Belle vue, Knowsley road, etc, is at those grounds away fans can go and congregate amongst themselves and generate an atmosphere. Whereas at CP, away fans have the choice of standing at the sound end of the ground (not fit to be called a 'stand') and not seeing any of the game, or seat themselves in the 1000 capacity golf stand (half of which is taken up by home fans). And you actually wonder why everyone refuses to go to your ground? I rarely come on this board and 'troll' but I'm afraid issue needs to be raised.

fair point i think. we're never gonna get top home crowd attendances while we still accomodate so poorly.

i know its a recession, but surely now is the time to get something built as it will cost less, can't imagine too many construction companys are swamped right now, and im sure the work they do have lined up during the off season would gladly take a back seat for a few months til things pick up.

Think KR were relying heavily on funding, unfortunately in the recession the money isn't available.

Fair point, and for the matches where the away support is poor (Catalans, Huddersfield etc) the stand could still be used for our own fans.

well In my opinion more space in the east stand would mean more fans turning up ,(i hope) in turn more money which means more to spend on facilities. And as already said above the new plan for a “golf stand in the south would mean better views for away supporters (which is the main problem), so if it is a 1200 seat stand then that is more then we need for most away fans (except hull FC
