Spoke to DTT after 42-6 and he said Harvey was the recruitment manager for West Tigers. Anyone know if he's still there? - What's he up to these days? |

Didnt Millward join a decent side? I was born in '84 so dont know masses about that era but what I do know is that in recent years we've gone through the mill, hit rock bottom and James gave us that bit of class we were missing that knitted a set of average players together to make one machine. Millward was a fantastic player probably the best this country has ever had but for our club the most influencial I'd still argue Webster should hold this crown?? |

James Webster will always be remembered for his contribution in getting us back into the big time and helping keep us there. However, to compare him with Roger Millward is lunacy. |

I appreciate we're talking different era's Nick, and it wasn't a dig at you because from your point of view, yeah Webbo will be up there as the best signing in the time you've been watching Rovers, which I'm guessing is from the late eighties early nineties. But Millward was a different class, and again through age, I wasn't around when he first signed, but I was around for the last few years and everything you hear about the legend, is right. One thing for Webster though, in years to come, they will speak of Webster in the same manner they do of Millward, and that is of the highest praise I can give to the Ginger Maestro. |

Sir Roger Millward was the greatest British R.L. player of all time and played in one the greatest sides ever. James Webster was the catalyst to all that has gone on in our rise through to Super League and will always be remembered by Rovers fans. |

I'm not compairing at all, I'm simply saying that what was achieved through Webster has lead to what we see today. I dont doubt the achievments Roger had with the club were not immense and I'm certainly not taking anything away from him. What I maybe should have put was that Harvey made the most IMPORTANT signing in the clubs history, without James I feel we'd have landed Obst who I dont feel would have had the same leadership and maturity to take a club like Rovers who'd always been the bridesmaid into and keep them in the Super League. |
