Welham & Fox

3 YEARS EACH

But will upgrading players like these be costly on your recruitment for 2010? especially Fox with a few clubs sniffing after him

Who will be going to leave cap space end of year ?

Fitzhenry, who I believe will be on a fair sized wage.

I cant see these contracts having a significant impact on the Cap to affect our recruitment.

I would guess that their money would increment each year rather then being given a big one off rise now.

Obviously this is all speculation and my opinion. We'll never know the true figures. Will we Hutchie?

Surely Fox will see a huge rise as he could probably expect that if he was to go somewhere else

not neccesarily, that could be said about almost every player at every club. Everybody will always want a pay rise. You have to look at present market conditions. Most clubs will be as close to their cap as they can be, and also with the competition been reasonably even across the board, would it benefit him leaving?

His mam is signing it for him, negotiation is not an option, he has board money to pay :)

And you need to keep your ginger quota too

We would like some of our up and coming players to be tied to longer deals. You would like some of your established players to be ooc sooner. C'est la vie.

As players like Welham come through the ranks they will replace our older (many of them overseas) players and be paid more to reflect this. This is something that is generally regarded as a good thing.

Edit: I don't think we'll see too many players coming in from outside the club this year. When you look at who is ooc, promoting from the academy (reserves, whatever) looks like best value.
