ODE TO THE DERBY
It’s just ‘round the corner, we are nearly there,
A bone crushing Derby in the Hull FC lair.
We are one point behind them and playing real well,
Let’s give them a hiding and send them to hell.
A win against the Dullers would be a dream,
A slippery slide down for the Black ‘n’ White team.
So, come on boys, show us your stuff,
Hit them Dullers real hard till they’ve all had enough!
We have to be cautious against the Dullers, it’s true
Can’t take our eyes off the game for a minute or two.
I know that on form we should win the tie,
But I still get real nervous, I can’t tell a lie.
I hope we out-sing them in the KC’s North Stand,
Our travelling Army, the Red ‘n’ White band.
Will the Dullers leave early? or will they stay to the last
Empty again with 20 minutes to go, that would be a blast!
Well, can’t wait till Friday, I don’t think I’ll sleep
Got to try and get my head down and count some Red ‘n’ White sheep.
I’ll pray for a Derby win to raise our campaign
And celebrate East Hull style with a bottle of Champagne

One final note about Hull’s Challenge Cup match,
Am I offering some sympathy? Is that the catch?
No sympathy from me, I’m gloating like hell!
