After Wayne Rooneys comments that he grew up an Everton fan and was brought up to hate Liverpool is it the same for Rovers and Hull fans? |

Was never bought up to hate anybody, Its just that when you get to know what Hull fans are like it just seems to be perfectly natural to start |

I think many people would admit to disliking the other side, but hate is a strong word. There certainly are supporters on both sides who hate the other club, but in many cases they have a similar IQ to Mr Rooney. |

Funny story. When I was 17, some mates said what are we doing Sunday? Someone suggesed a rugby game. So we looked at who was at home and the closest and it was Rovers, the rest is history. If it had been FC at home........ Do I hate them? no. Do I detest them? no. Do I hope they lose every game and lose their franchise next time round? Hell yes |

I have very good friends who are Hull Fc fans & 2 from the wifes side of the family are Fc as well. Choosing what DVD recorded rugby game to show when we have BBQ's is always fun. To say you hate anyone over sport is very sad, wanting to win the game is all you should be wishing for & banter is fine as long as it doesn't go too far. |

I wouldn't say it was any less a rivalry, although hate is such a strong word, I doubt even Rooney really meant it. Bragging rights, success and banter for two sets of supporters in one city mean 'the other side' are never far from the minds of any fan, but those who really 'hate' the other in the true sense of the word, have gone too far IMO. |

I can't say I hate Hull fans as I have very good friends who have unfortunately gone down the wrong path hate is a very strong word. I have a deep rooted dislike of anything black and white, but I think our game has no room for hate. |

Yes hate is a strong word, but not strong enough in this case |
