He signed a 5 year deal last year I think (or the year before).
He's an adopted Saint now mate. Gotta remember in St Helens they ain't got nowt in the town apart for their Rugby League team and a glass factory so it's insular environment means the players are treated like super-star royalty and I think that's something Wilkin has been accustomed to and wouldn't want to leave.
In Hull, we've got 2 SL teams, a Premier League football team and even an Elite league Ice Hockey so it's a completely different environment to the above.
Would have been good if Wilkin would have stayed along with the likes of Wheeldon, Washbrook etc. but the players had to do what was best for their respective careers at the time and now we have to stop looking about what players have gone on to pastures new and bring through own own.
