HULL KR coach Justin Morgan has dismissed reports linking him with a move for Gold Coast Titans half back Scott Prince.

Prince is still contracted to the Titans but Morgan said he would be interested if the 27-year-old became available.

But at this moment in time, he's happy with the squad he has.

"We are not looking for wholesale changes" said Morgan.

"We have people we are looking at but we are keeping those names to ourselves.

"We feel we have a very good core of players that we can take forward in the next three or four years.

"If Scott Prince was to become available, yes he would be a player any team would want to talk to.

"But we're just concentrating on the players we have in our squad at the minute."

Even if we are interested in him, Justin has done the right thing dismissing it.

Far too early to start speculating, you run the risk of upsetting key players (James Webster).

Are you allowed to talk to him at this stage though if he is under contract to the Titans?

If (and I'm led to believe he has) has a Super League get out clause then yes.

Alternatively, his club may have given him permission.

Anyway, why the concern - are you jealous?

Not really, just thought Morgan's hardly likely to admit talking to a contracted player. He is an awesome player, but we have enough Aussies here for their pension as it is; he'll be 29 next year and will want a pay-off, having managed only 10 games last season. Better spending the money on local development given the reducing overseas quotas and increasing requirements for homegrown, own academy players.

Oh no! I am agreeing with this B&W

If we get the franchise for three years we will have to use it to develop local talent because if we dont it will go MASSIVELY against us in 2012, as fine a player as he is we should look at the sort of money he would cost to get that development up to a good level instead.

Development money does not go on the cap so don't see the problem as we have extremely wealthy backers who provide unconditional finance as they are all die hard red and whites.

Plenty of investment is being put into our youth structure and I'm sure it will pay dividends. There's no big panic anyway - aslong as the club produces a player a year good enough to make the grade as it's about quality not quantity.

Its still turnover and the reality is we need to REDUCE overseas signings over the three years not increase. If we were to lose three overseas players, then maybe we could bring one really good one in, but the other two will have to come from within to achieve the aims for the second wave of franchises.

Why would that be of concern?

The board have the money for both.

The academy talk is getting boring.

Last year you lot predicted the first year of these rules would hit us but it that isn't happening. We could play five academy players in Whelham, Ianson, K Netherton, Lovegrove and Menzies, and still beat you comfortably so what's the big deal?

I'm looking for the Justin Morgan to produce players who can actually make an impact rather than mediocre overhyped players like Tommy Lee.

In the meantime, world class imports provide a better environment for the youngsters to learn.
