I think we'd be okay for numbers. Clinton (if he came), Vella, Wheeldon, Lovegrove, with Mills and Watts as cover. Netherton is probably more a prop than a SR now and Newton can play there at a push.

Hull, by way of handy comparison, have Cusack, Dowes, O'Meley and Moa. Lauaki and Radford could be moved forward from the back row and may well be given the strength in depth there.

Assuming I haven't forgotten anybody we'd have 8 who can play there, Hull only 6. Signing Clinton would be about adding quality.

Numbers wise I think we are better off for props than 2nd rowers. With two dream team players, 2nd row has the quality, but you'd expect Cook and Taylor to get a decent number of chances next year, especially with Walker's terrible injury ruling him out for a good while, I'd imagine. Vella, Lovegrove or Netherton are other options.

One more top out-and-out prop and I think we'll have a well balanced and flexible pack.
