Rovers coming up has had an effect, as RL is now talked about more in the city than it was when you were busy playing London Skolars
but also our great run of 13wins in a row and reaching the grand final in 2006 would have increased crowds anyway
Didn't have much of an effect at the back end of 2006 though did it? Its quite simple, suddenly dormant Rovers fans start turning up to games, buying shirts etc. This stirs up a dormant FC fan living close by (an adjascent rock perhaps?), and so the cycle goes on.
More cities should try it, the RFL should be looking at offering franchises to Hunslet as a way of boosting gates at Headingley?

If you think that the title wasnt meant to be a sly dig at Hull, then you are more stupid than I thought you where.
Obsession with Rovers players signing extentions I havent even commented on the thread.
You are prime example of being more interested in Hull than your own club.

its hard to say what had the bigger effect, Rovers or the Grand Final. I think they've both boosted it. After 2006 we were in the mindset that one or two arrivals would win SL for us, and we were promised a big impact player in Maivia () and had just signed Manu who had a great season for Cas etc
and our crowds were annoying at the end of 2006, I bet the extra 3,000 or so who are now going to games wish they'd made more of an effort in 2006!

We sell more passes, shirts and haven't had a league game less then 10,000 in a few seasons now. Sure on the field we ain't producing but 3 finals in the last 5 seasons isn't that bad. Its going to take more then finishing above us for one season to suggest you have the reigns to this city. Infact its going to take more then a few weeks in second place to get people to believe your a world class team.

IMO you are in a false position in the league at the moment, I can see you outside the playoffs come mid june, with the improvements of Wire Pies and Bulls(or should that be Northern as we all are living in the past).
He wont listen mate the fact his team are playing god awful rugby is lost on him as in his eyes we are only 'slighty' better, probably in the same way that the earth is only 'slighty' bigger than the moon
