Ive not had anything negative at all to say about Mason. In fact i'm pretty sure i said on the other Mason thread that he'd walk into any side in SL and is a fantastic signing for Rovers. Obviously he's going to wear the 'dads army' label that Fitz, O'Meley and Long were labelled with.

Not a bad label to have,I.M.O.,they are all mature players,but still excellent,so who cares?

Long is half a decade older than Mason and nowadays misses more games than he plays. That's the problem.

So in other words if Big Willie sees the third year out on his contract at Rovers he will still be six months younger than Longy is now, and aren't forwards meant to be at their best in their later years ?
