Welham is a great reader of the game. His pace isnt blistering but he isnt the sloutch some on here are making him out to be. His try scoring record is 1 every 2 games which in SL is above average. Defensively he needs to improve but he will. People are forgetting he made his break through at aged 21 not 17, 18. Therefore he still has improvement in him. And he has caught the eye of Tony Smith this season so maybe one day he might get Rep honours.
hall didn't need to go anywhere, it was our nob of a coach who sent him. He has the type of skills welham can only dream of

I agree. TBF to Hall late in the season his defensive game looked to have improved considerably and his confidence was high. People knock the loan move to Widnes but it has helped his development IMO.
Either way it is refreshing to see a few Hull born lads playing super league level in the centres....if only we could find a couple of scrum halves!

No chance. They're both flaky in defence but hall is an exceptional attacking talent and certainly one of the fastest centres in SL

The fact that Fa'asavalu played for GB devalued the shirt IMO....
as i said it goes on, i seem to recall tongans, new zealanders , aussies, png etc etc etc all being allowed to switch allegencies in the past as well.
and i agree with you, anybody that represents england who is not english by birth , should not happen. and i`m sure smith could pick english players that are on an equal if not better quality than bridge, harrison and the guarenteed fasa when sts finish

are you saying that if you made your break through at 17/18 you wont get better after 21?
halls pace is blistering, hes scored 10 in 14 games, defensively he needs to improve but he will.

The ironic thing is it is the Aussies who are the worst at it and they dont need to! Picking players like Mason, Dymock, Civonacieva(sp), Hayne and Hunt who all qualify for lesser nations by birth right just weakens the international game.
Both Tonga and Samoa could probably pick a very competitive team if allowed to.

don't the nrl have central contracts though similar to RU to keep top players like the ones mentioned?

OK.
Lets make it simple for you.
Welham = Ever Present in the team that finished 4th in the Table.
Hall = Fringe Player and loaned out in the team that finished 12th.
If you take the time to digest what is actually posted then you might not make yourself look so much of a fool.
Ive posted that if they both reach full potencial Hall will be the better player.
But as things stand Welham has had a far far better season then Hall and deserves credit for that.
Its up to Hall to change that opinion.

i dont think so. they do have 3rd party payments off sponsors but nothing to do with nationallity.
