If we had appointed a new coach 4 weeks ago, this turnaround would have suggested we had done the correct thing in disposing of Morgan, I would like to think the main reason for our little change in fortune is that both Dobbo and Newton are back in the squad and we are finding a bit of form.
Well admittedly Justin deserves credit for 3 wins from 3, but tbf it has been against very weak opposition.
IMO there would be many advantages to Webster as coach:
- His previous spell was very successful and led to our first silverware in 8 years
- He's been learning the ropes at Hull, one of the biggest clubs in the country
- He's young, the advantage of this been openness to new, modern ideas
- He knows a large part of the squad (Briscoe, Fisher, Murrell, Netherton, Newton, Galea etc) having played in SL with them in 2007 and / or 2008
Okay it would be partly a gamble due to him having no experience as head coach, but in terms of continuity and stability at the club it could be worth the risk.
