As opposed to you laughing at us saying there was something to celebrate in making a major final (and getting £250k for it), yet you launch a list of "achievements" that ultimately yielded nothing in terms of either silverware or cash (Hudgell having said there was no money in the CC quarter final, nor the play-offs)
Well done on bringing one player through your homegrown system as you go into your 4th season. Surely Cas and Salford have more to celebrate in this respect in terms of first team players? Roots of a strong academy is a throwaway claim until it delivers consistently.
This is not about the relative performances this season of Hull and Rovers, that's not even a debate. It's about you all pouring scorn on a major final appearance for us last season, then being unable to take the hypocrisy of claiming "success" when ultimately you failed to make a semi, let alone a final.

The difference being Grudge and Chief White Powder spouting out their garbage in the Wail how they're going to win SL, and then make themselves look stupid by failing miserably, and going out like a vinegar stroke.
Maybe they should be more like your lot and aim for mediocrity, and still fail. What's the aim for next year winning the mascot race.

Compare this to a club who have reached a major final in the last two seasons and still claim that there seasons was failure. Now that puts things into perspective, you guys are flash in the pans and we are the bigger club.
That difference being that after winning the Cup in 05 and making the Grand Final in 06 Hull fans proclaimed you as now being a Top 4 side.
That on the back of being in the SL far longer then Rovers and being handed a decent squad of players after the Gateshead merger.
Rovers have continued progressing so yes its been a successful season.
Had we finished 11th or 12th and made the Cup Final then it simply would not have been although many supporters would love that.
Time will tell if we are a flash in the pan which i doubt very much and if your such a bigger club then your performances on the field need to back that up.

I do believe that it is not all as rosey as you think though. Fozzard has gone cos you cannot afford him for example. However, you recruitment policy of up and coming players is to be admired. A lot of people will disagree, but then I don't really care.
I believe in a forum where people try to be honest and interesting rather than provocative. An off-season of fair and open debate without petty points scoring and name-calling. I believe that together we can build a better future for RL discussion on the web. Brothers and sisters in RL, I believe.

Choosing to not answer the point that you said we couldn't claim anything to celebrate in reaching a major final, but you can do so when you failed to reach a semi final. OK.

Ah. But how much time do you have left? Tonight was not only the demise of all Justine's proclamations, it was also the end of Play-Off, Semi and Final game revenue and Prize money.

Oh, stop it. Where's your sense of mischief? Don't you get fed up with being the only one on here that talks sense?
