A game of rugby isn’t decided with one error.

We found the “side to side” easy to defend against baring the Crooks try.

On the other hand, claims that we were the better team over 80 minutes are... well I don’t agree, pleased as I was with our team’s effort. The idea that Hull are ‘just big’ and that somehow renders their superiority less valid also seem strange to me. All SL teams have strengths and limitations to varying degrees, but I don’t see how ‘just big’ is any different to ‘just fast’ or ‘just skilful’. Our adherence overall several seasons, born partly this year out of sad necessity, to a small ball approach isn’t a virtue in of itself.

It really was a game of 2 contrasting styles, with each team playing to their strengths.
Rovers imo played well and made the game a real arm wrestle, based on your last 2 performances I wouldn't say you are favourites for relegation.
It was until the final quarter our superior strength and size began to tell.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

Credit where it’s due. This is a good post and shows that you understand the game better than most people that post on forums.

That seems a fair assessment, from a poster that has steered away from the "my dads bigger than your dad"mantra.
I just wish that one day in the near future that we(Rovers)for once, before I get too old, to could actually have our first choice team on the field and see what happens. No Garbutt,Parcell,Abdull,Haurakui,no replacement for Mose(massive massive miss)and I cannot remember the last time we fielded a full strength team...who can, and when?
Yes, FC had players missing, but we don,t have the squad size to always adequately cover our missing first choices players with the same quality.
That said, well done FC(Hate to say that)but it could have been different, but unfortunately was,nt..dammit!
Just hope the absentees are fit again soon, and we can get a couple of quality additions.
So far, I like what I see, but it,s all about winning and accruing points....that,s all that really matters for us.

Can't have been that easy, seeing as you were behind and looking second best at the time of the penalty

You had no answer to our free flowing style

We made you look very ordinary in the third quarter

Is that middle line actually serious? Rovers just threw the ball backwards and forwards most of the night without actually getting anyway. Crooks try was brilliant keeping the ball alive (was very impressed with some of the offloads in that play) but other than that your free flowing rugby ended with the winger cutting back inside and getting tackled without any trouble. If we had no answer we wouldn't have come from behind to win.

You came from behind to win after the momentum had swung

Again, Ellis tags the 2 we win with ease
