| The desire I see from other teams is so clear to see, we never seem to show that same enthusiasm to want to win. I don’t doubt for one minute that any rovers player out there doesn’t want to win... But, they could at least show some interest in wanting to.
I want to see determination to defend like their lives depended on it, I want to see determination from them to win, even if they don’t win, as long as I know they’re doing all they can, I’ll be happy. Least we’ve got an easy game next week, we will get back on track. 8-(

| We're missing Mulhearn big time and Jewitt to a lesser extent Mose is good when he wants to be but last night he didn't seem to fancy it we needed his big runs when we where penned back but he just passed it on and to me Scruton is finished he hasn't offered much at all this year and these two are our main props at the moment

| I have faith in Sheens but must admit it is slowly but surely fading away. Not only is it the way we're playing but the rumoured signing targets and past signings since he's been in charge have and are woeful. What on earth went through his mind to sign walne? How are we in the position to be fielding Clarkson and Tickle as our starting back rowers?!? It's beyond a f@@@ing joke! Size has become a huge thing now with modern day rugby and sheens chooses to start shaw who offers less than my dead Nan when coming out of our half and moss who must weigh the same as a 12 year old girl. Desperately need a new winger with size to get us going along with Carney, play atkin is his best position, getting rid of deadwood like scruton, walne, kav, Clarkson, tickle and Blair who's gone 2 seasons too long for me. The squads just a joke from top to bottom.

Have to disagree about Blair and Kav has surprised me as I think he's decent we were spoilt wingers wise with Mantellato and Sio who were both great at bringing the ball back we have to many average players Huddersfield got the better Walne brother and he can't get a game for them

| As much as Sheens’ team selection baffled me, he unfortunately hasn’t got a lot to work with in the way of quality.
The real issue surely lies in the poor recruitment in the offseason and a lack of activity so far this year.
I don’t buy the “we had less time because we were the promoted team” excuse. Look at the players that have moved clubs since the season started. Toronto alone have managed to sign Gareth O’Brien, Chase Stanley & Darcy Lussick, and they’re one of your main rivals. What is Peacock getting paid to do?

Toronto apparently have a metric funtonne of money compared with us. And they’re on the up with tangible evidence of ambition. Fair play to them.
Peacock and I have polar opposite personality types I suspect, so while I completely respect him, I find it very hard to buy in to his philosophy or RL worldview (to the extent he’s revealed it). In fairness though, he inherited plenty of issues, our ineptitude in 2016 was compounded by rotten luck and he deserves his share of the credit for promotion in 2017.

Definitely. He has our players playing for the shirt, we went down honourably today, taking the form team at home all the way with a banged up squad, injuries on the day and despite 3 sin binnings (I don’t have an issue with the sin bins as decisions, more that we managed to keep it so close despite them). I’ll enjoy being at Wembley as a neautral for the first time in a while.

Based on previous evidence, it’s likely for the best that he stays in the background.
With what’s happened he’s on a bit of a hiding to nothing.

Much as I was relieved to see Saints just about hold on, I do admire the way Hull play under Radford. Lot’s of energy, power and intent, overpowering weaker teams and knocking better teams off their stride. When they’re down on energy they turn out the odd poor performance, but on their day they’re very difficult to play.

| As much as it pains me to say, Hull were excellent today and a tad unlucky not to win. But saying that Saints were awful in patches and Wilkin is a liability for them.
Radford seems to have them playing at 110% and I do feel a tad envious that he gets that from his team. Sheens protects the players way too much and an kicking wouldn’t go amiss after a bad performance personally, Radford doesn’t pull any punches.
Peacock isn’t liked by many at Rovers that I know, (fans that is). I can’t stand the bloke. But he is living off his reputation as a player. That’ll only take him so far.
Watershed season for him with us I feel, his failure at signing decent players in the near future might (hope) has his bags packed for him. After all does he really give a damn about rovers like Motu Tony did about F.C.

Watershed season for the club as a whole.
My guess is that the success Peacock enjoyed throughout his playing career meant that his ideas on what you need to do to get it weren’t often challenged in a profound way.
I suspect Radford learned more from being involved in several seasons of mediocrity at Hull than he did winning trophies with Peacock at Bradford. You learn from failure, whereas success will tend to reinforce your preconceptions.
So what we really need is someone who has failed a lot!
In all seriousness, that Sheens can draw on lessons learned coaching struggling teams, as well as winning Premierships and a World Cup, is a cause for hope, imo.

I think Chester is getting found out a bit now with Kear gone on Hull I think Radford has built a good squad that should carry him through for a few years yet we have to survive this season and then build as we do have some good young players at the club

Ah, so THATS how Richard Agar manages to keep getting employed.
Btw, if Sheens does leave and you hear that guys name mentioned. That is the time to start panicking.

A valiant loss is still a loss. We've had a fair few. Hard work and raw size is a hard combination to beat and add in couple of flair types and it's easy to see why a decent cup side. Unlucky I suppose but you can't always come out on the shiny side of a 50/50.

Yep, that's sport, I have no complaints. It was a great run whilst it lasted and we went out defending it right until the end.
Radford, or "Lugs" as you affectionately call him, has built a decent side and a great team ethos over the years. Far from just a decent cup side, he's taken us to consecutive SL semi-finals too, and this year despite our injury problems, we're still there or thereabouts in SL (at the moment).
