Open your eyes. This is Hudge's attempt to create a smokescreen to create a perception that Rovers' situation is no better or worse than anyone else's. Unfortunately, in that attempt, he has undermined the position of all Super League clubs regardless of whether or not they are indeed losing half a million a year. How attractive has he made the sport look to new investors and sponsors?

If I was on the board of any club making a profit or losing less than £500K I'd be fuming and demanding a retraction at least. I don't bet Hudge is the RFL's current favourite person, too.

Hull's better figures don't affect Rovers, just as it wouldn't help us if the Hull player valuations issue was a real problem. Until other clubs start to match it, it remains a problem for the whole sport - including Hull and Leeds. The rest of us might not exist, but how attractive is the prospect of RU at the KC?
