On the field he was unmatched for heart and off the field he was a great lad too, I've had the pleasure of talking to Ben a fair few times and he always had time for fans.
What he got up to, in his own time, is no worse than what goes unnoticed each and every day countless times in Hull, some far worse. His identity tied up his actions and sadly has ended his stay at Hull KR.
If it hadn't been for the media sources around the modern game this wouldn't have been the outcome.
Barrie McDermott has done worse than Charlie (he was the first person in the UK charged with using CS gas in a brawl) and now is a much loved TV pundit.
Barrie was a scrapper no doubts there (however he never needed a mate to hold any-one down whilst he kicked them in the head!!)...nor is Barrie a racist ....unbelievable comparison

Well said dum dum Charlie is a really nice guy but he made the mistake of moving back to the area where all his trouble started my motto is never go back and he did, I was angry with bens last actions simply because he was great for our club and I just hope he doesn't keep falling into the same trap at his next club.

Did the people in this area make this lovely nice guy be a racist ?

Well, I've never met him, but I do remember his girlfriend (at the time, no idea if they're still together, hope not for her sake) being completely dumped whilst he went out on the town in Perpignan. Strange behaviour for such a lovely lad...
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Whoo Whoo I never said that did he but it's pretty obvious ain't it that it's all happened whilst he has been living in this area he moved back to as I've said gutted he's gone from a players perspective but the club have done the right thing now it's up to him to turn his life around, and bb u know as well as I do that other people in society have done far worse things than Ben and I know that but cos he is in the lime light it's made it worse u cannot tell me he is the only racist in the country

Sadly he is not the only racist in the country...
I think the fact he is in the limelight has not made it worse at all, in fact I suspect his rugby kept him out of prison after his appalling assault! (as it has a few players).. He is a grown man who has been given numerous chances to turn his life around, he has displayed to every-one that he is a scum-bag with no respect for all his fellow human beings. I expect people to recognise his contributions on the rugby pitch, however I find it very disturbing when people describe a racist who nearly kicked a man to death as a lovely, nice man etc....

He's not even racist, he joined some 'proud to be British' Facebook groups and called an indian taxi driver a derogatory term (not to his face, to his own friends) hardly puts him in white robes with a burning cross, does it?
I could join the same groups (which have over 1000 members) and write offensive comments on my wall and I guarantee I won't end up in the paper.

You really have shocked me with that post Dum Dum as I know you are an intelligent man! Mind you some would argue Nick Griffin is also intelligent.

I just have a lot of time for Charlie, what he posts at 2am after a drunken night shouldn't really end up in the paper. I suppose it's his own fault for accepting all friend requests.

Not a problem but his actions are not actions that warrant any defence. You may see his comments as just derogatory but the simple fact is they were racist no matter what slant or circumstances are put on them. Calling some-one a c***t is derogatory calling an Asian a paki c***t is racist.
